During setup you can instead choose AI Smart Assistant mode at the same price: it understands plain-English questions and answers from your saved facts, is told never to invent details or quote a firm price, and hands off to you by text, email or call. You can switch between the two any time.
- Can I use my own AI key to avoid the monthly AI limit?
- Yes. In the dashboard under Smart Responder or AI you can add a key from OpenAI, Groq, DeepSeek, OpenRouter, Cloudflare Workers AI or any OpenAI-compatible service. Your widget then uses your key with no allowance on our side — you pay the provider directly, typically a few cents a month for a small business. The key is encrypted and never displayed again. - Can I change the chat button's avatar?
- Yes. Pick from dozens of icons, people, robots and animals, a set of illustrated characters, build your own character, or upload your logo or photo. Choose how it gets attention too — wave, bounce, peek, heartbeat and more — and it moves the same way on your live site.
- What happens if a visitor asks something you have no answer for?
- It says so plainly and hands the visitor straight to your text, email or Send-us-your-info button, so the lead still reaches you. That question is also saved in your dashboard as a missed question so you can add an answer for next time.
